When your constitution is a bigger book than your Bible, being a trustee can be daunting! In this free training session, TCC break down how the Methodist church is governed and structured, its legal roots, and what that means for you as a trustee. We will answer questions such as:
1. What is CPD, and do we really have to do what it says?
2. My church made a bad financial decision and now is in debt. Am I liable as a member of the church council?
3. I’m the senior steward, the property secretary, the safeguarding officer, and the pastoral secretary. I’m not the treasurer though – that’s my wife. Our son audits the accounts. That’s ok, though, isn’t it?
4. How do I get my voice heard?
This course aims to make a dry topic as interesting as we can and is ideal for anyone in a trustee position in the Methodist church, including church councils, Circuit meeting members, and so on.

Following a very successful pilot project funded by the Methodist Church of Great Britain, TCC was formed as a new and independent organisation. We are part of the Methodist family and have developed an in-depth understanding of church structures, charitable governance, and related subjects. We have built up a suite of tools and approaches that have been very effective in churches of many denominations, and other community organisations.
Our service is based on outreach and support provided on a needs led basis. Our core belief is that TCC is an enabler, and seeks to empower the people it works with to develop their skills, knowledge and experience to do their best for their communities. Sustainability and self-determination is always at the forefront of our support.
TCC’s unique approach and deep knowledge means we are a great choice for your Church. We bring the best of the Third Sector into Churches and Communities to enable the right governance, planning and funding to be put in place to deliver your project.
